About AirSense

AirSense is an Erasmus+ project that connects Maker Education and Citizen Science to help schools explore air quality in a hands-on and meaningful way.

Students build low-cost monitoring stations, collect and analyse real data from their surroundings, and use their findings to raise awareness and encourage local action.

The project supports teachers with practical materials, adaptable learning scenarios and targeted training, making it easy to integrate air quality, digital tools and sustainability topics into everyday school practice while connecting schools across Europe in a shared monitoring network.

AirSense offers:

  • Practical teaching materials ready to use in the classroom adaptable to different subjects and age groups
  • Hands-on teacher training focused on real classroom application
  • Support in working with sensors, electronics, programming and maker approaches
  • Guidance on integrating citizen science and sustainability into existing curricula

By combining making, digital skills and civic engagement, AirSense supports schools in creating meaningful learning experiences that connect the digital and green transitions — and helps build a growing European network of schools working together for cleaner air and healthier communities.
