On January 28–29, 2026, AirSense partners from Greece, Portugal, Ireland, and Germany met at ECSA headquarters at the Natural History Museum of Berlin to kick off a project that promises to be truly inspiring.
AirSense is an Erasmus+ Cooperation Partnership project that will support schools in creating air quality monitoring stations through a citizen science approach and a dedicated professional development programme for teachers.
The project brings together maker education and citizen science to create a hands-on, evidence-based learning model that connects the digital and green transitions, with a focus on air quality monitoring. AirSense will establish a European network of schools engaged in environmental monitoring, digital innovation, and civic participation.
Students will explore environmental issues by investigating them through real data, interdisciplinary collaboration, and community engagement. This integrated pedagogical model promotes scientific literacy, digital readiness, and active citizenship.
